Katmandu Studio Recertified by SDO

The Supplier Diversity Office (formerly the State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance) has recertified Katmandu Studio of North Attleborough as a woman owned business enterprise (WBE) in the graphic design category. The company is now listed in both the SDO Directory and the Massachusetts Central Register, which are published at regular intervals. The directory is distributed to state agencies and private organizations that seek to fulfill WBE utilization requirements.

Owned by Louise R. Cote, Katmandu Studio is a multi-service graphic design agency founded in 1995. Its design services include advertising; brochures; logo development and corporate identification; packaging and product graphics; and website design. The studio’s At Your Service offering brings over 30 years of experience to a client’s design department - without the addition of headcount - as needed by the client. The Supplier Diversity Office is the business affirmative action agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Certification is the process by which the SDO reviews and investigates applicants who wish to participate in affirmative business opportunities to determine that they meet the requirements of state statutes and regulations. To become certified and/or recertified, each business must undergo a rigorous review of business form, processes, finances, control and licensing, among others.

Katmandu Studio asks "Parlez Vous...?"™

According to Cote, “For more than 12 years, I have been providing this service only to a couple of my largest clients. After speaking with several of my small business clients I realized there is a need for foreign language services in businesses of all size. Katmandu Studio Parlez Vous...? formally introduces this capability to the marketplace. Whether they’re just starting up or expanding to serve the global marketplace, I can work with my client’s choice of translators or hire one for them. If they need one brochure in five languages, or five brochures each in its own language, I can make that happen.”

Business writers like to talk about a global economy where even the smallest business may have a need for multi-language collateral. A client need not have an overseas office, it could be an inn, restaurant or a hotel looking to attract more international tourists and want people to feel comfortable when they arrive.
